Zusammenfassung
Wir wissen, daß bei den Grundelementen des menschlichen Organismus, den Zellen, die Forderungen auch in diesen Tagen dieselben sind wie früher. Alle Stoffe, die nicht benutzt werden können, sind für die Zellen Vertreter von Abfallstoffen, die beiseite geschafft werden müssen. Viele von diesen Stoffen sind nichtpolarisiert und fettlöslich; deswegen könnte ihre Funktion unendlich lange dauern, wenn nicht der Körper fähig wäre, ihrer Existenz Grenzen zu stellen. Die Prinzipien des Stoffwechsels und die Anwendung von biologisch aktiven Verbindungen sind sowohl physiologisch als pharmakologisch von Interesse.
