Zusammenfassung

1889, 7 Jahre vor dem englischen Chirurgen Beatson, empfahl der Freiburger Professor Albert S. Schinzinger, ein vorwiegend praktischer Chirurg, die prophylaktische Oophorektomie bei Prämenopause-Patientinnen mit Brustkrebs vor operativer Entfernung der erkrankten Brust. Schinzinger hatte damit als erster die Frage der hormonellen Induktion des Krebses aufgeworfen (Simmer [29]).
