Zusammenfassung

Cystische Bildungen der Vulva werden in den älteren Handbüchern zumeist nach ihrer speziellen Lokalisation klassifiziert. Zweckmäßiger erscheint jedoch eine Einteilung, die zugleich die wesentlichen ätiologischen Gesichtspunkte berücksichtigt. Nachdem durch die Arbeiten von MEYER, R. (1901, 1905, 1936, 1937, 1938) über die Entwicklung der menschlichen Vagina eine Aufklärung möglicher Entwicklungsfehler des Vaginalepithels erfolgt ist, lassen diese Erkenntnisse zwangsläufig auch Rückschlüsse auf die Herkunft von Vulvacysten zu. Der größere Teil leitet sich naturgemäß aus Fehlbildungen der Haut und ihrer Anhangsgebilde ab. Bei der erwachsenen Frau spielen zahlenmäßig die Retentionscysten der Vulva entzündlicher oder traumatischer Genese die Hauptrolle. In der nachstehenden Aufstellung (Tab. 1), die modifiziert einer Klassifikation von JANOVSKI (1962) entnommen ist, sind sämtliche Möglichkeiten der Entstehung von Vulvacysten nach Ätiologie, Histologie und Lokalisation zusammengefaßt, die sich aus dem Schrifttum bis 1962 ergeben haben.
