Zusammenfassung

Ein Symposium über “Biochemistry and Physiology of Plant Growth Substances”, das 1967 in Ottawa abgehalten wurde und dessen Referate nunmehr in gedruckter Form vorliegen (WIGHTMAN u. SETTERFIELD), hatte noch einmal die Gelegenheit geboten, das für den Einzelnen kaum mehr überschaubare Gebiet der Phytohormonforschung im großen Kreis zu diskutieren. Trotz einer Fülle von Einzelergebnissen, die im Detail zu besprechen den Rahmen dieses Berichts sprengen müßte, bleiben die Grundfragen einer kausalen Klärung hormonaler Wachstums- und Entwicklungssteuerung auch weiterhin ungelöst. Dem Problem der Wachstumsanalyse, allerdings beschränkt auf Zell- und Organkulturen, ist der Band V B der von STEWARD editierten “Plant Physiology” gewidmet.
