Abstract

The viability of endothelial cells in relation to technique of procurement and preservation or aortic valve allografts is not well established. This is partly because endothelial cells have not been considered in the extensive viability studies of valve allografts (Mohri et al. 1968; Reichenbach et al. 1971; Locket’ et al. 1972; Angell et al. 1972; Al-Janabi and Ross 1973; Parker et al. 1978; Henney et al. 1980; van der Kamp et a1.1981).
