Abstract

The pathophysiologic hallmark of cardiogenic shock is markedly reduced perfusion of organs and tissue. There is a cardiac pathogenesis indicating that the heart is unable to pump forward an adequate cardiac output due to its muscular condition, mechanical defects, or pericardial obstructions.
