Abstract
Matroid-theoretic criteria are given to the structural controllability of a linear dynamical system expressed in the descriptor form: F dx/dt = Ax + Bu under a realistic assumption introduced in Chapter 4 based on the physical observations. The characterizations of the controllability, stated in terms of weighted matroid partition problems, are supported by efficient algorithms.
