Abstract
The Tyumen region occupies a vast territory on the West — Siberian Plain. Its area makes up as much as 1.44 million square kilometers. This territory is home to the multinational population of 2.7 million people. The population of the region is predominantly urban; about 72% of the people live in 16 towns including Tyumen which is the center of the area. The Tyumen region includes the Jamalo — Nenetski and Khanti — Mansijsky autonomous districts.
