Zusammenfassung
Die das Pigment Melanin synthetisierenden, zwischen den Basalzellen der Epidermis und in der Haarzwiebel verteilten Zellen nennt man Melanocyten (1). Sie stammen aus dem Neuroektoderm der Neural-leiste (s. Tafel 144) und wandern während der Embryonalentwicklung in die Epidermis aus, an deren Basallamina (2) sie sich anlagern.
