Abstract
Generally, fracture patterns in the skeletal system tend to repeat; however, the individual variations and combinations are endless. The corrrect reaction to a given situation requires experience, but to have the reduction “fall into place” on the first attempt requires a little luck as well. We are guided by the basic principles of anatomic reduction, stable internal fixation, and atraumatic surgical technique which are applied so as to allow active, painfree mobilization of the muscles and joints. These principles, once learned, are put into practice to the benefit of many patients.
