Abstract
Air pollution has been regularly monitored in ten Lithuanian cities at 22 air quality monitoring stations (Vilnius - 6 stations, Kaunas - 3, Panevėžys - 3, Klaipėda - 3, Šiauliai - 2, Jonava - 1, Kėdainiai - 1, Mažeikiai - 1, N. Akmenė - 1, Venta 1). The measurements of 20 atmospheric pollutants have been carried out at each air monitoring station. The list of monitored pollutants includes SO2, NO2, NO, CO, NH3, H2S, HF, Cu, Zn, V, Pb, Fe, Cr, Mn, Ni, dust, benz (a) pyrene, formaldehyde, and sulfates (Environmental Protection Department, 1994). Furthermore, episodical field measurements have been performed to solve certain problems.
