Zusammenfassung
Die klinische Symptomatik der Colitis ulcerosa hängt von der Ausbreitung der Erkrankung und dem Schweregrad der Entzündung ab (Tabelle 10). Das häufigste klinische Zeichen ist die rektale Blutung. Das Blut tritt entweder zusammen mit dem Stuhl, vermischt mit Schleim und Eiter oder allein auf. Bei entzündlichem Befall des Rektums findet sich das Blut überwiegend an der Oberfläche des Stuhls, weshalb Hämorrhoiden fälschlicherweise als Ursache dieser Blutung angenommen werden. Bei mehr proximalem Befall des Kolons ist das Blut mit dem Stuhl vermischt.
