Mechanisms of Drug Interactions

Abstract

The intent of this book is to present current information on drug interactions influencing drug absorption, distribution, elimination, and activity. Consistent with this, the original plan of the authors concerned was to present a single chapter on interactions affecting drug absorption which would include drug-drug interactions and also drug-food interactions. After examining the quantity of material that has been published on these two closely related but distinct topics, it was agreed that drug-drug interactions and drug-food interactions affecting drug absorption would be better presented in two separate chapters.
