Abstract
The data presented in this volume derive from healthy subjects who participated in phase I studies performed by the authors (H.-P. Breuel, S. Bondy, and P.R. Heine) as principal investigators from 1990 to mid-1992 at the AFB-Klinische Pharmakologie and thereafter at Pharmacon Research in Berlin. All studies had virtually uniform inclusion and exclusion criteria, and all examinations were performed using the same methods. Data from the prestudy screening examination served exclusively to determine subject eligibility and are not considered here. Instead, only the data of the subsequent study day have been entered, even if some parameters were shown to differ between the two days. Baseline values for all subjects are the values measured before medication, and data on variations of different parameters in the course of the study day or during the study were derived solely from subjects under placebo.
