Abstract

In practically all appearances hyperprolactinemia is identical to disturbed follicle maturation and disturbed menstrual cycle, it is therefore classified as a type of hyperprolactinemic anovulatory syndrome. The previous classifications depending on the presence or absence of a pituitary adenoma are no longer necessary, since diagnostic and therapeutic proceedings are the same in both cases.
