Abstract
Trauma usually occurs unexpectedly and anyone at any age may be affected. The severity of traumatizing forces resulting from travel accidents, accidents at home, sport activities, or crime and the situation when and where the accident happens influence the medical management. Efficient diagnosis and treatment require knowledge about the accident or — if that is not available — a good theory of what happened and how it happened.
