Zusammenfassung

Ein großer Teil der Morbidität, Mortalität und Einschränkung der Lebensqualität wird in den späten Stadien des AIDS-Vollbildes durch die Infektion mit atypischen Mykobakterien verursacht. Während Mykobakteriosen als AIDS-Erst-manifestation nach der Statistik des AIDS-Zentrums in Deutschland kumulativ nur bei 6,4% der Fälle angegeben wurden [1], schätzt man die Häufigkeit des Auftretens im gesamten Verlauf von AIDS eher in der Größenordnung von etwa 30–50% aller Patienten.
