Zusammenfassung
Im Jahre 1872 beschrieb der ungarische Dermatologe Moritz Kaposi erstmals das Auftreten kutaner blaulivider Tumoren bei 5 Patienten und bezeichnete dieses Krankheitsbild als idiopathisches Pigmentsarkom [15]. Bis zum Beginn der HIV-Ära wurden 3 verschiedene Formen des Kaposi-Sarkoms unterschieden. Das klassische Kaposi-Sarkom, das meist mit einer Prognose von mehr als 10 Jahren Überlebenszeit einhergeht, findet man vor allem bei älteren Männern jüdischer bzw. mediterraner Abstammung [28]. Das vor allem bei Kindern und jungen Erwachsenen auftretende afrikanische Kaposi-Sarkom zeigt einen wesentlich aggressiveren Verlauf und führt oft schon nach 2 Jahren zum Tode [25]. Eine 3. Form ist das seit den 70er Jahren bekannte Auftreten von Kaposi-Sarkomen bei Patienten mit iatrogener Immunsuppression nach Organtransplantation [18].
