Abstract

This chapter is an introduction to the Maximum Entropy Method (MEM). Many aspects of MEM are covered. General ideas are presented with few technical details being concerned. Having gone through this introduction, the reader can selectively read in the following chapters what is considered to be of interest and applicable to their research areas. On the other hand, general ideas presented in this chapter can be well understood only after reading the relevant parts in the remaining chapters.
