Kontrastschwellenmessung bei Patienten mit beidseitigen monofokalen und Array-multifokalen Intraokularlinsen

Zusammenfassung

Ziel unserer Studie war der Vergleich der Kontrastschwellen bei 21 Patienten mit beidseitiger Implantation von monofokalen Intraokularlinsen (IOL) versus 16 Patienten mit beidseitigen refraktiven, multifokalen Array-IOL. Die Bestimmung der mono- und binokularen Kontrastschwellen erfolgte mit einem computergesteuerten Monitorsystem. Binokular konnte eine niedrigere Kontrastschwelle bei Patienten mit multifokalen IOL im Vergleich mit monofokalen IOL nachgewiesen werden. Monokular wurde kein Unterschied zwischen den Linsentypen festgesellt. Bei Verwendung von refraktiven multifokalen IOL empfiehlt sich daher die bilaterale Implantation, da hierdurch eine bessere Kontrastempfindlichkeit im Vergleich mit monofokalen IOL erreicht werden kann.

Summary

The aim of the study was to compare the contrast threshold in 21 patients with bilateral implantation of monofocal intraocular lenses (IOL) versus 16 patients with bilateral refractive multifocal Array-IOL. Contrast sensitivity was examined monocularly and binocularly by a computer-generated monitor system. Patients with multifocal IOL achieved binocularly a lower contrast threshold than patients with monofocal IOL. The monocularly measurement of the contrast thresholds established no differences between the IOL types. In the case of implantation of multifocal IOL, a bilateral implantation should be preferred in order to achieve a better contrast sensitivity in comparison with monofocal IOL.
