Part of the book series: Advances in Anatomy Embryology and Cell Biology ((ADVSANAT,volume 134))

Abstract

In the following summary, where applicable, reference is made in brackets to the results of Vorster (1989) for the normal embryos, bearing in mind that the embryos used in both investigations were obtained from the same genetic flock and physical environment, receiving the same standard of care and nutrition. Variations in the structure and development of the chondrocranium are therefore highly likely to be caused by exposure to the teratogenic agent, ethyl alcohol.
