Zusammenfassung

Infektionskrankheiten des Zentralnervensystems (ZNS) sind in erster Linie durch neurologische Zeichen und Symptome gekennzeichnet. Daneben treten als Begleiterscheinungen auch psychiatrische Auffälligkeiten zutage. In manchen Fällen sind es aber die psychiatrischen Symptome, die als frühe oder sogar als einzige Auffälligkeiten erkennbar sind und das klinische Bild bestimmen. In diesem Kapitel werden wir infektiöse Erkrankungen des ZNS behandeln, bei denen psychiatrische Auffälligkeiten im Vordergrund stehen.
