Zusammenfassung

10 % aller Unfallverletzungen und > 60 % aller Polytraumen sind mit einem Thoraxtrauma kombiniert. Die Häufigkeitsangaben über die unterschiedlichen Verletzungsfolgen an Thoraxwand, Lungen, Mediastinum, Herz und großen Gefāßen schwanken beträchtlich, da sie stark von der Zusammensetzung des Krankengutes abhängen. Die in Tabelle 23.1 von Glinz (1981) angegebenen Haufigkeiten von Thoraxverletzungen und Begleitverletzungen beim stumpfen Thoraxtrauma können deswegen nur orientierende Daten sein.
