Zusammenfassung
Der erste Schritt der Schilddrüsenhormonsynthese, der Transport des Jodids in die Schilddrüsenzelle, wird durch den Natrium-Jodid-Symporter (NJS), ein transmembranöses Protein katalysiert [2]. Nachdem die Klonierung des NJS-Gens möglich geworden war [4], konnte auch dessen Expression in szintigraphisch unterschiedlichen Schilddrüsengeweben untersucht werden, wobei sich eine verminderte Genexpression bei „kalten“ Knoten zeigte, während Knoten mit einem erhöhten Tc-Uptake eine entsprechend stärkere Expression aufwiesen [1].
