Abstract

Sustainable energy resources have long been of experimental significance for the Desert Institute especially solar and wind power. Different types of plants have been developed to harness these natural energy sources including a combined helio-wind plant. The experiences so far are described.. The use of osmotic membranes has been especially successful. Of particular significance for this work was their use to desalinize water for irrigation.
