Biomaterials - Principles of Implantation

  • Conference paper

Abstract

Prosthetic implantation allows repair of complex abdominal wall herniation and can be used to treat very big or even giant lesions, often considered beyond the scope of surgical repair, especially when they are multirecurrent. The use of prosthetic material has been the subject of much controversy, but it is now widely accepted in most European countries.
