Abstract

The paradigm pertaining to most automatic diagram presentation systems presumes an application program retrieving database facts (relation tuples) that have to be graphically communicated. The goal of such presentation systems is to eliminate the need for end-users and application programmers to specify, design and arrange a display each time output is required from the application program. A prerequisite is therefore to separate the presentation from the rest of an application.
