Abstract

This book is concerned with the automatic generation of diagrams. Diagrams are a familiar, widespread means for the communication of relational data. They occur in scientific papers, business reports, newspapers, magazines, technical manuals and many other types of publications. Their task is to communicate complex, abstract matters in an intuitive, graphical way.
