Zusammenfassung
Stellen wir uns eine Welt vor, in der alles was passiert vorhersagbar, erwartbar, berechenbar wäre: Sicherlich bräuchte man in dieser Welt keine Psychiatrie, aber es stellt sich die Frage, inwieweit wir dieser Wirklichkeit den Begriff „Lebendigkeit“ zuordnen würden. Leben, so scheint es, ist — einerseits als Anpassungsprozeß an wechselnde Lebensbedingungen, andererseits als Prozeß der Erhaltung von Identität — auf eine eigenartige Mischung aus Stabilität und Instabilität angewiesen; und für psychisches Leben scheint dies in besonderem Maße zu gelten.
