Zusammenfassung

Die geltenden Bestimmungen und ihre praktischen Anwendungen sind in dem rezenten Werk von Gerl Ambulante Operationen in der Augenheilkunde gut dargestellt. Am Beispiel der Augentagesklinik Groß Pankow werden die Standards für die Räume, die Ausstattung und den Ablauf erläutert und illustriert. Bei einer minimalen Infektionsrate (ca. 1:5000) im eigenen Patientengut werden einige Hygieneanforderungen als übertrieben hingestellt, wie das Scheuern des Fußbodens nach jeder Operation und die Forderung, daß jeweils nur ein Instrumentensieb aufgedeckt sein dürfe. Dagegen wird die Wichtigkeit der Hygiene im engen Operationsgebiet betont: Inzisionsfolie, Fernhalten der Wimpern, Desinfektion mit Betaisodona sowie die postoperative subkonjunktivale Infektion von Antibiotikum und Kortikoid

Summary

With the example of the Augen-Tagesklinik Gross Pankow, the required Standards for a surgical day clinic are discussed. We point out that, in addition to the usual equipment, easily movable OR stretchers are very useful. A sterilization room adjacent to the operating theater proves to be extremely practical; the instruments can thus be passed through a double-door cupboard without carrying them to the OR. Good incision foils with proper draping of the uncut eyelashes and application of diluted Povidine are extremely important. Up to now we had not added antibiotics to the intraocular BSS. The reasoning behind cleaning the OR after a cataract operation, a rule imposed on Ophthalmie ORs, in multidiseipline operation tracts, is doubtful. In addition, we found it useful and not dangerous to keep several sets of instruments uncovered to provide for a rapid turnover of patients.
