Study of ηπ- Production by Pions in Coulomb Field

Abstract

Coulomb production of ηπ-- system at M ηπ- < 1.18 GeV in the reaction π- + Be → ηπ- + Be was observed. The coupling constant was extracted from the measured cross section and compared to that of radiative decay η → π+ π- γ.
