Zusammenfassung
Bei der Pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis (Synonym: intestinales Emphysem, intestinale Gaszysten, zystische Lymphopneumatosis, Pneumatosis) handelt es sich um eine sehr seltene Erkrankung (bis 1989 waren weltweit 350–400 Fälle beschrieben). Sie ist charakterisiert durch zystische Luftansammlungen unterschiedlicher Größe in der Darmwand, die die normale Textur der Darmwand aufheben. Die Gaszysten können breitbasig oder gestielt aufsitzend das gesamte Intestinum befallen, auf ein Darmsegment beschränkt bleiben oder auch andere Organe der Bauchhöhle mit einbeziehen. Sie verlaufen meist entlang der Lymphbahnen und weiten die Lymphspalten der Submukosa oder Subserosa auf.
