Zusammenfassung

Unter einem enteralen Eiweißverlustsyndrom (Synonym: exsudative Enteropathie) versteht man den übermäßigen Verlust von Plasmaproteinen in das Darmlumen. Auch unter physiologischen Bedingungen gehen täglich kleinere Mengen der Serumproteine in das Darmlumen verloren. Der rasche und nahezu vollständige intestinale Abbau infolge enzy-matischer Aufspaltung und bakterieller Degradation erschwerte lange Zeit quantitative Aussagen über die tatsächliche Ausscheidung. Im Jahr 1949 wiesen Albright et al. erstmals mittels komplexer Bilanzierungsstudien an Patienten mit einer Hypoproteinämie indirekt nach, daß eine erhöhte intestinale Ausscheidung zugrunde liegen müsse. Es blieb jedoch Citrin et al. vorbehalten, 1957 mit intravenös appliziertem 131J-Albumin erstmals bei einem Patienten mit einer hypertrophen Gastropathie (M. Ménétrier) den intestinalen Eiweißverlust unmittelbar nachzuweisen.
