Zusammenfassung
Unsere Ergebnisse sprechen dafür, daß mobile Patienten mit einer tiefen Beinvenenthrombose sehr oft klinisch meist stumme Pulmonalembolien mitbringen und unter Heparin und Kompressionsverbänden bei Vermeidung von Bettruhe nur sehr selten symptomlose neue Embolien erleiden. Das Ereignis einer tödlichen Lungenembolie bei 3/929 konsekutiven Thrombosepatienten (0,3%) legt die Vermutung nahe, daß es offenbar gefährlicher ist, Patienten mit tiefer Thrombose zu immobilisieren, als sie weiter mit adäquater Kompression mobil zu halten. Analog wie bei der Primärprophylaxe von venösen Thromboembolien sollte auch in der Therapie und Sekundärprophylaxe der Bekämpfung der Stase größere Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt werden.
