1977 wurde von der IFFS (International Federation of Fertility and Sterility) auf dem 9. Weltkongreß in Miami eine Nomenklatur der tubenchirurgischen Eingriffe erarbeitet und 1980 auf dem 10. Weltkongreß in Madrid in der endgültigen Form verabschiedet (s. Übersicht).
