Energy Efficiency Improvements in Electronic Motors and Drives

Abstract

Since the last International Conference on “Energy Efficiency Improvements in Electric Motors and Drives” in 1996 (Almeida et al., 1997), the understanding of the innovation process in this broad field of energy use has substantially increased. More is known about the technical and economic potentials, about the barriers to implement existing economic opportunities and possible measures and policies of governments and manufacturers or motor using OEM as well as final users of the services of electrical motors and drives.
