Zusammenfassung
Nach Milzentfernung ist die körpereigene Abwehr für bestimmte kapseltragende Krankheitserreger (Pneumokokken, Hämophilus influenzae, Meningokokken u. a.) vermindert. Es besteht lebenslang ein erhöhtes Risiko einer schweren Postsplenektomie-Infektion (Overwhelming Postsplenectomy Infection, OPSI) [4]. Häufigste Erreger sind Pneumokokken, wesentlich seltener Hämophilus influenzae, Staphylokokken, Meningokokken u.a.
