Zusammenfassung

Die Endoskopie spielt in der Diagnostik von Tumoren des oberen und unteren Gastrointestinaltraktes die zentrale Rolle. So erfolgt die Primärdiagnose und histologische Sicherung eines malignen Tumors in der Regel mittels Endoskopie und Biopsie. Der makroskopische Wachstumstyp kann häufig bereits Hinweise auf die T-Kategorie geben. Mittels Endosonographie kann beim Ösophagus-, Magen- und Rektumkarzinom heute sowohl die T-Kategorie als auch die lokale R0-Resektabilität mit hoher Sicherheit vorhergesagt werden.
