Zusammenfassung

Weichteilsarkome können grundsätzlich ubiquitär aus der Matrix des Stütz- und Bewegungsapparates einschließlich der Weichteile entstehen. Etwa 20% der diagnostizierten Weichteilsarkome liegen intraperitoneal oder retroperitoneal (Abb. 1). Retroperitoneale Sarkome treten gehäuft in der fünften Lebensdekade auf, obwohl auch Patienten in jungen Jahren betroffen sein können. Frauen scheinen insgesamt häufiger als Männer zu erkranken. Im eigenen Patientengut betrug das Durchschnittsalter bei 65 diagnostizierten Patienten mit einem retroperitonealen Sarkom (34 Frauen, 31 Männer) 56 (19–87) Jahre.
