Abstract
Although the European food supply seems one of the most secure and safest in the world at present, the focus on developments in food quality, nutrition and health during ECBA’s symposium and workshop revealed a number of points which let the European Countries Biologists Association conclude that European authorities should make full use of the professional competence and scientific and technical potential of biologists to ensure that food production and food processing, food safety regulations and the nutritional needs of Europe’s inhabitants are aimed at health in its broadest sense.
