Zusammenfassung

Eine große Statistik zur Inzidenz von Thrombosen und Embolien aus den Vereinigten Staaten zählt 2 Mio Thrombosen/Jahr, das ist ca. 1/130 Personen [1]. Jährlich erleiden 600000 Amerikaner eine Lungenembolie (d h. 1 von 430), 60000 (1:4300) versterben an diesem Ereignis. Damit liegt die Mortalität von Thrombosen und Embolien über der des Brustkrebses.
