Zusammenfassung

Es läßt sich mit Sicherheit sagen, daß Suizid ein Aspekt des menschlichen Daseins ist und, wenn auch meist als eher seltenes Phänomen, in allen Gesellschaften und zu allen Zeiten vorkommt. Suizid und Parasuizid können zusammen als suizidales Verhalten bezeichnet werden. Erst das folgende Kapitel wird den Parasuizid oder die vorsätzliche Selbstbeschädigung beinhalten, doch da sich die beiden Themen beträchtlich überschneiden und um Wiederholungen zu vermeiden, werden Fragestellungen, die für beide Bereiche wichtig sind, nur in einem der beiden Kapitel abgehandelt.
