Zusammenfassung

Während eine Behandlung schizophrener Patienten ohne soziotherapeutische Interventionen heute undenkbar ist, bleibt die Bedeutung der Psychotherapie im engeren Sinn auf diesem Gebiet nach wie vor umstritten. Zwar haben sich beide Ansätze in letzter Zeit soweit aufeinander zubewegt, daß eine getrennte Betrachtung kaum mehr sinnvoll erscheint, sie sind aber doch aus einer je eigenen historischen Entwicklung hervorgegangen, was für ihr Verständnis nicht ohne Bedeutung ist.
