Zusammenfassung

Ganz ohne Zweifel ist die Entwicklungsperspektive von großer Bedeutung für das Verständnis psychiatrischer Störungen bei Kindern und Jugendlichen. Entwicklungsphysiologie, Entwicklungsneurologie und Entwicklungspsychologie sind Grundlagenwissenschaften der Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie. Die Entwicklungsperspektive kann als eine Art Brükkenschlag zwischen den verschiedenen Disziplinen angesehen werden oder als ein verbindendes Konzept (Eisenberg 1977), mit dessen Hilfe unterschiedliche wissenschaftliche und praktische Auffassungen von Normalität und Psychopathologie nicht nur bei Kindern, sondern auch im Erwachsenenalter integriert werden können.
