Abstract
The genus Agrostis comprises about 125 annual and perrenial species that occur in temperate and subarctic climates as well as at high altitudes in tropical and subtropical zones around the world. Of these, four perrenial species with extensive or limited stoloniferous growth habits are used as important cool-season turfgrasses for golf courses, home lawns, etc. They include A. palustris, A. tenuis, A. canina, and A. alba.
