Zusammenfassung
Chronisch entzündliche Darmerkrankungen (CED) gehen aufgrund einer direkten Beteiligung des Darmes und ihren sekundären Effekten auf die Nahrungsaufnahme häufig mit einer Nährstoffdepletion einher. Da die durch Malnutrition hervorgerufenen Komplikationen den Patienten oftmals mehr schwächen können, als der zugrunde liegende inflammatorische Prozess selbst, sind Prävention und Behandlung der Malnutrition obligatorische Bestandteile der Therapie chronisch entzündlicher Darmerkrankungen.
