Zusammenfassung

In Deutschland beträgt die Inzidenz für den Typ1-Diabetes bei Kindern <15 Jahren 11,6/10000. Somit erkranken in Deutschland durchschnittlich 4 Kinder pro Tag an einem Typ1-Diabetes. Entsprechend ist von ca. 20000 erkrankten Kindern in der Bundesrepublik auszugehen (Neu et al. 1997).
