Zusammenfassung
Der femoropatellare Gelenkabschnitt wurde in der Anfangszeit der Knieendoprothetik weitgehend vernachlässigt Das erste Patellarückftächenimplantat wurde als Metallprothese ohne femorale Gegenkomponente von Mc Keever (1955) zur Behandlung der isoHerten Retropatellararthrose eingeführt Hanslik berichtete 1971 über 46 Mc-Keever-Patellarückflächen aus Polyäthylen zusammen mit einer Young- Scharnierprothese. Groeneveld veröffentlichte 1973 erste Ergebnisse einer Pateilateilprothese aus Polyäthylen, die mit verschiedenen Knietotalendoprothesen (Guepary Walldius u. a.) kombiniert wurde. Voraussetzung war die Einführung von Patellaschildern am femoralen Teil der Knieendoprothesen, die bei den Modellen der ersten Generation (Shiers, Mc Keey, St Georg u. a.) fehlte.
