Zusammenfassung
Schluckstörungen bei Patienten mit Multipler Sklerose (MS) sind sowohl hinsichtlich ihrer Art als auch ihres Schweregrades von sehr unterschiedlicher Natur und Ausprägung. Diese inter- und intraindividuelle Variabilität dysphagischer Störungsmuster beruht insbesondere auf anatomischen Gegebenheiten: Einerseits können MS-Plaques prinzipiell alle schluckrelevanten ZNS-Areale und ihre efferenten und afferenten Fasersysteme in unterschiedlicher Kombination affizieren, andererseits kann sich bei ein und demselben Patienten im Verlauf der Erkrankung infolge neuer Plaqueformationen auch das Störungsmuster ändern. Insofern ist die Klassifikation von Dysphagien bei MS-Patienten schwieriger als etwa bei Patienten nach Hirninfarkt, da die ZNS-Läsionen im letzteren Falle zumindest in der Regel „umschriebener“ sind.
