Abstract
The practice of pediatric urology and uroradiology has changed a great deal in recent years. The increase in the clinical use of antenatal ultrasonography and its ability to provide anatomic information about the developing fetus has led to growth and development of perinatal urology. There has been a significant increase in the number of genitourinary anomalies diagnosed in the newborn period and greater attention is paid to postnatal assessment, diagnosis, and management, including followup imaging of these infants. The urological conditions requiring surgery are varied but the abnormalities which require most frequent surgical intervention are those which give rise to urinary-tract dilatation.
